I always thought if I had a daughter perhaps she would want to wear it on her wedding day but as I've got the two boys (with no plans for more), I have no idea what to do with it... xCol | Hello Olive Designshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04573590870299496730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5117737617668210212.post-52635471226908275012015-01-22T09:37:44.251+00:002015-01-22T09:37:44.251+00:00What a beautiful dress. I dyed mine bright pink and used it until it wore out but that was 32 years ago when long dresses were fashionable to wear and it was a very simple ensemble. A friend wore her grandmother's wedding dress - that her mother and cousin were also married in. Keep yours and share it out!Annehttp://www.annewheaton.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5117737617668210212.post-33539009061147591032015-01-21T19:04:30.523+00:002015-01-21T19:04:30.523+00:00It's a lovely wedding dress, a very precious t...It's a lovely wedding dress, a very precious thing indeed.. My wedding dress is kept in a box. I had it made for me in the Philippines and it was sent over here when it was ready. I was worried that there'll be adjustments to make but luckily it fitted perfectly and it's just what I wanted. It's got some stains from some rose petals I stepped on during the party but five years on it's still waiting to be cleaned. Maybe I'll just leave it as it is; like Jennifer's, it's a reminder of the day. I have two daughters so I'm keeping my dress in case one of them would like to have it some day. xAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08208986782111545220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5117737617668210212.post-18743431160000140052015-01-21T16:53:17.197+00:002015-01-21T16:53:17.197+00:00Bee, your dress is so beautiful. My wedding dress ...Bee, your dress is so beautiful. My wedding dress is in its zippered bag, hanging on my closet. I never had it cleaned after our wedding though I should have done so because I dropped a bruschetta toast down the front of the bodice during the cocktail hour (the only appetizer I had time to eat with all the guest-greeting and it went all over my dress!). It's almost thirteen years and now the stain will probably never come out, but it is a reminder of the day. :)Jennifer Hayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04685253944514672324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5117737617668210212.post-20928111397831839792015-01-21T15:13:56.515+00:002015-01-21T15:13:56.515+00:00Oh Bee, what beautiful detailing. I thought I'd feel really sad to get rid of it, but it was relief as it was just sitting up there gathering dust. I don't feel remotely sentimental about it (it's not like I'm ever going to wear it again) and I like to think someone is getting some use from it now. (John said probably a cross dressing male - we had a good giggle about that...) xxGillian Roehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05080123177116154219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5117737617668210212.post-81364906002945831242015-01-21T10:22:14.998+00:002015-01-21T10:22:14.998+00:00Didn't it used to be tradition to make your ba...Didn't it used to be tradition to make your babies christening robes from your wedding dress? My mum and dad moved house and brought it round when they moved to my new home with my Bloke. Jeez what do you do with it then? I gave it to our am dramatics group and Cinderella/sleeping beauty/princess etc. always wears it in the fairytale wedding scene at the end. That makes me laugh but they were really grateful for it. Yours looks far too lovely to do that with but I thought it would make you giggle. I tried it on a couple of years ago and couldn't zip it up all the way :(((( I wouldn't know what to do with it. If I had girls I'd perhaps offer it to them when they got married. Although I wouldn't let them do what that horribly spoilt younger sister did in the film 27 Dresses. I have an urge to try it on again.
Lovely post.
Leanne xxLeannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15617604296746784414noreply@blogger.com
