chair addiction

My name is Bee and I have a chair addiction.

I attended an upholstery class last year in my spare time, (spare time, what a laugh) and so can often be found staring longingly at chairs of all shapes and sizes.  More than a little weird, I know.

I have a penchant for armchairs and love so many different styles.  Although I have a particular love for chairs from the 1950's and 1960's and don't get me started on all the beautiful fabrics.

I particularly love the work of flourish and blume.  Well worth a look if you too like chairs and enjoy rescuing sad, unloved furniture.  Here is a little peep at a few of their transformations.

Amazing, don't you think?

I am returning to the class this week and am pleased to meet up with friends who share my addiction and where I don't have to hide my effusive admiration for all manner of seating and I am bursting to get stuck into a new project.

I will keep you updated with my antics.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and that you are looking forward to autumn and all the season brings now that the equinox has passed.

Just to let you know.  I have added a Bloglovin button to the sidebar for those of you who like to use it for your blog reading.

  2. Hello Bee
I can't say I have a chair addiction but I could easily acquire one if I could get my hands on a chair like the one in your first picture. The fabric used is what does it for me. Its impressive!

    keep well

    Amanda :-)

  4. Oh. Beautiful chairs. I own one beautiful chair, which was made by my grandad who was a carpenter. I LOVE that chair, obviously, for sentimental reasons.

Look forward to seeing what you create.

  8. I too have a chair addiction..though for me it's with distressed old wooden chairs..I love an old colourful distressed chair me :P The problem is, not enough room in my small old house to have too many of them..
I do like the chair in the third photo, that is my favorite..with the mix of grey with orange (gives it a bit of zing!).
Have a lovely day today x

  18. Aren't you clever?! I think it would wonderful to know how to do upholstery. It seems quite complicated. But as a person who has at least two chairs which needs to be redone, I really wish I could do it myself rather than pay someone to do it. Alas, I know my limitations!
