It is so, so cold. A bitter, biting wind is whooping and wailing outside. Time to batten down the hatches. We have been promised some snow although it is difficult to imagine as I look out at the grey sleety rain trickling down our windowpane.
I am so happy the weekend has arrived. I have plans for a cosy weekend at home.
Stove lit, snuggling under blankets. Feasting on warming soups and stews. Trying out a new recipe for apple cake and enjoying some films with the little ones.
And if the snow does arrive I expect there will be some sledging and snowman building.
What about you? Any plans? I hope you have a warm and cosy weekend whatever you get up to.
Enjoy being cosy, we need to go out, snow is so rare in London we cant miss it!! x

Thanks Jenny ... wishing you a lovely fun filled weekend ... Bee xx
Deleteoooh I wish we had a fire!! It is exactly the type of weather book reading, blanket snuggling and an open fire...but alas my little cottage only has night storage heaters and an oil fired rayburn...not quite the same! :( Do pop over to mine and take a peek at my giveaway if you get a chance. Its only a little one but you might like it x
ReplyDeleteBet the rayburn is lovely and warm though ... off now to have a peep at your giveaway ... hoping you enjoy your weekend ... Bee xx
DeleteWe're having a snug weekend too - the snow arrived with us this morning so we've mostly been holed up keeping cosy! I'm mega jealous of your woodburner though - we're currently in the (long, slow) process of trying to choose one and get it fitted. Apple cake sounds good too!x
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect ... keeping cosy is the only way when the weather is like this ... we love our woodburner ... I have always wanted one so we had it fitted when we built our house three years ago ... definitely recommend them ... they are so cosy ... ours is a Stanley Tara ... quite reasonable and good quality ... enjoy the weekend ... Bee xx
DeleteLove your wood burner Bee, I have grand plans for one of these one day. Me, well yes, I'll persuade the boys to go out with me, then stay out without me when my toes turn blue!x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen ... it really is cosy with the stove ... hope your toes aren't too cold :) ... Bee xx
DeleteWe have got snow so my weekend will be similar to yours. Bring it on! Xx
ReplyDeleteNothing beats cosying up at home when the weather is so cold ... wishing you a snug one ... Bee xx

ReplyDeleteThe apple cake is rather yummy ... I am enjoying some with a cuppa as I write ... wishing you a lovely weekend ... Bee xx
DeleteI was just thinking about baking an apple cake this morning! Definitely a day for baking...keeps the kitchen warm and there's cake to eat at the end of it...perfect! We had a great day sledging in the park yesterday and built a snowman in the garden...but today is all about blankets and DVDs and baking...just wish my kids would eat soup! Might have to make myself some anyway...have a lovely cosy weekend. Rachel xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you have had fun in the snow Rachel ... definitely weather to enjoy snuggling in ... I've just recently convinced my eldest to eat soup and the other two love it ... in fact it's virtually the only way I can get veg into my second little man ... although he is getting a little more adventurous ... enjoy the rest of your weekend lovely ... Bee xx
DeleteI do enjoy snugly cosy weather and I'd love to see snow from my window, however in this part of the world it's summer and we've just had a day at the beach.
ReplyDeleteOh I am jealous Alison ... a day at the beach sounds blissful ... hope you are having a lovely weekend ... Bee x
DeleteI'm cosy here at the stove too. We had snow yesterday but today it is gone. It is miserable and cold out. Hope you have a lovely weekend

Wishing you a cosy weekend too ... beside the stove is the place to be in the cold ... Bee xx
DeleteWell the snow arrived while I was away in Devon making for a long journey home. Your stove looks lovely, you will be nice and snug with that lit...I am off to make soup just now :)
ReplyDeleteI bet you're glad to be home safe and sound ... enjoy your soup :) ... Bee x
DeleteHi Bee. Your fire looks so inviting. we have had ALOT of snow, since the beginning of the week. I've not left the house since Tues. Well and truly fed up with snow. Apple cake sounds yum! xx
ReplyDeleteI hope the snow arrived so you could get out and enjoy it. Although I must say soups, stews, fires and dvds all sound a lot more appealing to me :-) x
ReplyDeleteAh, Bee, that stove...can I just move right in? Your weekend promises to be wonderful - I hope it was. We went up to the Yorkshire Dales and it was magical.
