after completing the little fairy's blanket, i decided to stick to small scale crochet projects ...
i found the tutorial for the owl on pinterest ... it is from the Bunny Mummy blog ... you can find it here ...
the tutorial was really helpful and i managed to follow it until i had finished the pink ... a minor miracle, you understand ...
i got muddled with the darker pink whilst shaping the head ... but i sort of made it up as i went along ... and i think i've managed to salvage it ...
i changed the eyes slightly too ... making them smaller and stitching the pupils rather than adding beads ...
all in all ... i am pleased with this little offering ... it would make a lovely gift for a little one ...
but i am determined to master the head shaping ... so will definitely be having another go ...

DeleteYour owl is so cute! I wish I still remembered how to crochet because I love seeing other people's crocheted goodies. My dream item is a granny square blanket. x
ReplyDeleteHi Col ... I too would love a granny square blanket but don;t know if I have the staying power ... it might have to be a very long project ... Bee xx

ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey ... he turned out okay I think ... Bee xx
Deleteowls are great! very cute. Had to laugh at what lazy daisy said, so true!! Heather x
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather ... Lazy Daisy is my Yoda :) ... Bee xx
DeleteYour little owl is sweet. Love the colour combo. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteThank you ... the colours were some leftovers from the blanket I made ... it is a great little project to use up small bits of wool ... hope you are well ... Bee xxx
DeleteVery cute! It's a good feeling when you master something isn't it? I still haven't got my head around the crochet thing, but that's from lack of effort tbh! X
ReplyDeleteI love this! I admired them on Bunny Mummy but wasn't sure if my crochet skills were up to it. Great way to use up small amount of yarn too. You say your owl went wrong but it looks fine to me. Have a lovely weekend, Bee.
ReplyDeleteGillian x
love the owl. Have seen another little version of this used as key rings for the kids book bags. my boys would love one! ( but just not in pink..you understand..;). ) xx
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet...I must go to pinterest now :)
ReplyDeleteEven if you think he didn't turn out right, he's still a cute little owl. I'm not the greatest at always reading patterns correctly, but this one seems to be all the rage right now, so will have to give it a go at some point. Have a wonderful day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI love your owl! I think it's amazing though that if we put them all together - considering they are all the same pattern - they would all look like different characters. Your owl looks like a very 'friendly' character! Well done x
ReplyDeleteAww he is lovely. I have also seen them on Bunny Mummy and there seems to be a shed load of owls on pintrest. But I do love this one and may give it a try. I agree about the blanket bit. I made one last month (seen on my blog) but get more satisfaction from smaller projects..short atttention span that's my problem. Happy making!!
ReplyDeleteso cute, small projects are a great idea. - Annie
ReplyDeletesuch a sweet owl - I too love to crochet :)
ReplyDeleteI love making owl stuffies, but I have never made a crochet one. This is just darling...great job!
