So here we are. Embarking on a brand new year. I'm not particularly enchanted with New Year and all its shiny, happy positivity pressure.
I try to take a mellow, laid back approach to the turn of the year. As is my way in life generally. Like last year I won't be making any resolutions. Setting myself up for failure isn't how I want to start January.
I do however, have many good intentions for 2015. I plan living simply, taking time to slow down and be present in the everyday. I want to enjoy the special moments and simple pleasures I encounter. I want to explore more and go on adventures. I want to learn new things and be creative.
I've spent some time thinking about a word to sum up my intentions for this year. I love words and found it very difficult to settle on just one. But I've chosen 'GROW'. To grow creatively, in knowledge and through experiences.
Wishing you all a wonderful 2015 and thank you for reading my ramblings. I really appreciate you stopping by.
Hi Bee, happy new year. I like this thoughtful post, yes grow is the perfect word.xx
ReplyDeleteI think your approach is just perfect......grow away Bee my dear, I'll enjoy watching you flourish! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteThe New Year pressure is tricky isn't it. But a mellow approach is the right idea I think, and one I shall be trying to take myself. Wishing you a very happy, positive year. CJ xx

ReplyDeleteHey Bee,
ReplyDeleteYes living more mindfully is my aim for this year too. My allotment is nearly at the stage where I can actually plant in earnest, so I'm hoping it will help ;))

Grow is a great word, and I love the sound of your intentions. Happy New Year Bee, I hope 2015 is a wonderful year for you. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful image - what plant is this please? Oof I need to make more space to enjoy simple moments too. Recent months have been all too full of crazed galloping about. Happy New Year to you x
ReplyDeleteGrow sounds like a good word to go with. I never pick one as I can never make up my mind! I'm not much of a fan of new year either, the pressure to be healthier, the resolutions...it never lasts. January is a month for being kind to yourself. xx
ReplyDeleteI like "grow". I am pleased to have found your blog. I have read back through your recent posts and find a kindred spirit I think. Your posts resonate with a calm and love for simplicity which I like very much!
ReplyDeleteIve just been skipping through your posts, I love your nativity scene and your winter walk photos, beautiful! I think 'grow' is a great word for the new year. Im like you, just take the NY in my stride, definitely no resolutions, but to grow in all the necessary ways is a great plan x
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you too! I love the idea of intentions instead of resolutions. x
ReplyDeleteGrow is a good word. If I have one I think it's reclaim, but my intentions are similar to yours ... I want to reclaim time and space (of the storage variety).
ReplyDeleteBelatedly, Happy New Year :o)
