Time for a breather. I can't quite believe that it's mid February already. The shortest month of the year seems to be passing at the speed of light. The little ones are on mid-term break. This time a short one. They have only Monday and Tuesday off from school. I hope we get to enjoy some quiet downtime for a few days. We really need it.
We've been on a merry-go-round of birthday parties, school activities and family commitments and I want to get off. Thankfully the remainder of February is much less busy. To my utter relief.
Today, was a pleasure. Pottering around in my pyjamas until almost midday. Perusing a recent charity shop find, The Reader's Digest Field Guide to the Wild Flowers of Britain. A lovely book full of interesting little paper cuttings tucked inside by its previous owner.
Admiring the sun's rays on my newly re-potted pilea. And the delicate little bloom on the echeveria, which needs a new pot too. Playing numerous games of snakes and ladders and enjoying a roast dinner. I've curled up now with a cup of tea in front of the fire.
A slow Sunday, savoured.
I hope you enjoyed your weekend, however you spent it.
It sounds like you've had a blissful day. A shame your half term is quite short, but no doubt you will make the most of it nonetheless. I love your flower book, and it's always nice to find little clippings inside isn't it. I do hope you have a lovely few days together. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteOh a slow Sunday - mine was a bit frazzled! My dad has that book though, plus 2 others in the series. Happy reminder. X
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you'll have some time to relax now, Bee. I love to read field guides and that one looks very nice.

ReplyDeleteIt really is going fast isn't it? It wasn't too long ago when the kids were off for Christmas and here we are at half term! True to form, it is pouring down outside so we are just lazing around and enjoying some rest. Have a wonderful week x
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Sunday/. I do love to potter about. the light in your photos is beautiful xxx
ReplyDeleteSundays have been good around here lately too. I know exactly what you mean about getting caught up in so many things you start to feel overstretched.
ReplyDeleteThat book looks lovely. I've found some really sweet things inside secondhand books - it's part of what makes them special. That and any inscriptions inside the front pages...
Hope you have a good week and it's a bit more relaxed.
