Our postman arrived this morning with a parcel containing this little gem, The Primrose Bakery Book.
Sadly I think most of these masterpieces are a little beyond my current baking skillset. However a girl can dream.
A little wildflower arrangement created by my eldest boy. Can you see the little stones in the bottom? He informed me he knew I would think they were pretty. I have a bit of a thing for stones, a little weird, I know. Anyway, wishing you all a lovely bank holiday weekend.
I have that book and was so very pleased with myself when I visited the Primrose bakery in covent garden and saw that the lemon drizzle cake I bake from the recipe in the book looked exactly like the one in the shop! It delicious too! X
ReplyDeleteHi Gina .. you obviously have the baking gift ... I love that when your finished bake or meal looks exactly like the picture ... even better when you get to see the real thing ... will definitely try the Lemon Drizzle recipe ... Bee xx
DeleteI've got one of their older recipe books and it has been a family treasure. Their chocolate cake, a firm favourite for birthdays, is fairly longwinded in the making but absolutely heavenly for those who enjoy an overdose of chocolate :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend and may it be filled with baking.
Stephanie
Must give it a go ... I make a chocolate cake for the birthdays here and it is pretty good ... but variety is the spice of life :) ... I am eyeing up the brownie recipe at the moment ... mmmmm maybe tomorrow ... wishing you a lovely weekend ... Bee xx
DeleteI have mentally gained a stone looking at these pictures mmmm.
ReplyDeleteI know Sarah ... the perils of baking ... all the eating ... a little now and again should be okay ... at least, that's what I tell myself ... Bee
DeleteLooks yummy! Can't eat these being a dairy free girl, I would just have to drool over the pictures! Ada :)
ReplyDeleteSorry for tempting you Ada ... Bee xx
DeleteHi Bee, thanks for the love yesterday, really helped me get my head straight! Yum to all those cakes - I think it's ok to eat cake as long as it's homemade - after all, all that stirring burns off a few calories I'm sure. And I totally know what you mean about stones, I have a big collection that have been brought home from everywhere, they live on a ledge out in my garden and I can see them from my kitchen window, nice to look at while I'm washing up. And how lovely of your boy to arrange flowers for you, I think he's got a good eye! Hope you're having a lovely long weekend. Rachel xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to hear from you Rachel ... you are most welcome ... hope all is well again for you ... you definitely have a point about the cake stirring :) ... I love stones too ... my husband thinks I'm bonkers ... I carry them from everywhere ... but they are so pretty ... wishing you a lovely relaxing weekend ... Bee xxx
DeleteHello Bee, looks like you have been a creatively busy bee! missed the last couple of posts, had a summer bug and put myself in bed. The cakes are tempting, I am very unimaginative when it comes to food, always need inspiration! haven't seen the new mollie makes yet, looking forward to it! Heather x
ReplyDeleteHello from another Bee! That baking book looks lush, and what a sweet boy you have! Bx

ReplyDeleteI have the Primrose Bakery cupcake book and found it very inspiring, especially for seasonal things like Halloween and Christmas, and I've had the above book on my Amazon wish list for some time. Let us know what it's like. There is little better than a new cookery book in my opinion! x
Thanks Gillian ... I do love a new cookbook ... Bee xx
