goodbye september

October tomorrow.  Is it me or does September seem to have just flown by.  We have had a really busy month.

The start of the new school year, a broken arm, lovely family days out and returning to my upholstery course along with the everyday things which have been happening as well.
September has been fun but I am looking forward to October.

The school pickups will be in sync from now on.  I won't be constantly running in and out so I might have some chance of actually completing some crafting and cleaning and organising and decorating.  The list goes on and on.

I wanted to say a big thank you to all of you lovelies who sent my little man get well wishes when he broke his arm.  He is really well now.  His cast has been removed and he is 'all better', to quote the patient.

Our biggest problem now is trying to keep a very bouncy active little boy in a rather more subdued state for the next while to prevent further injury.  Not easy.

The photos are a little random.  They are of our vegetable plot this summer.  We were very pleased with our bounty considering neither of us has any real clue what we were doing.

We have wisely invested in some books to help us next year.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

My Mollie Makes project will appear here soon, a little behind schedule.

Wishing you all a lovely October.

  1. I am looking forward to growing my own vege patch when we move house. I have loads of space so might have two. Just need to decide what to grow.
We are into spring down under so the weather is starting to warm up perfect time to start a vege patch.

    1. Hello there ... thanks for stopping by and saying hello ... good luck with your house move ... you're right, spring is the perfect time to start your veggies ... we did it on a wing and a prayer but it worked out for us ... we had salad, onions, herbs, peas, cabbage, beetroot and chard ... and a few lovely strawberries ... well worth a bit of watering and weeding :) ... 2. I think October can be a bit more settled, September always seems to be a bit stressful with trying to get into the swing of things! Happy days with a sneaky bit of time to yourself xx

  5. So glad to hear you little man is "all better" - what a relief for you. I am dying to see your mollie makes. I am woefully behind and have barely glanced at the last three issues, never mind started a make project! x

    1. Ah thanks Gillian ... I just don't seem to have the time at the minute to finish anything ... my heart isn't really in this month's make either ... maybe that is why it has taken so long ... I received my new copy on Friday but haven't dared open it in case it distracts me :) ... hope you have a lovely crafty week ... Bee x

  8. Your veggie patch looks great. It wasn't the best year for mine, just due to the weather..some things did better then others (some were just tasty food for the slugs :P). Have you tried bright lights swiss chard (?)..those are quite pretty to grow, as the stems are different colours :)
I look forward to seeing your Molly makes project..

    1. Thanks Magie ... we had a few slugs but used crushed eggshells and beer traps ... it seemed to put them off ... never heard of that variety of chard ... sounds lovely ... we will have to seek it out next year ... Bee xx

  10. So much plenty in that photo, it made me feel quite wistful re. our allotment that wasn't to be. And oddly had me craving cabbage!

Glad the broken one is fixed x
